We thought we could save money by placing our stone catalog on the internet however when we had to pay return freight on a truck load of stone because the color didn't match what our customer saw on their monitor we realized that the color catalogs you print for us are an accurate reproduction of our products and a necessary tool for our business.
Lesson learned.
Monitors do not reveal true colors!
We have been purchasing commercial printing from Thomas Printing for over 10 years and have never had to do a press check.
We can work with files from Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Draw, and Word, but these will require conversion on our end and cannot be considered or charged as camera-ready.
If your printed piece will print to the edge of the page and will be trimmed, it will require bleed.
Additional area must be added to your document to accommodate this, especially when it comes to photos that bleed off the edge.
If your print piece will be printed with spot colors, make absolutely certain that all the elements of your layout that will print with spot color inks are colored using those spot colors in your layout program.
