The seeds for Searles Graphics were planted in the basement of the Searles family home in Patchogue, NY where Richard Searles installed his first printing press. Growing up there meant printing was in the blood of Richard's only son Ken. Ken eventually grew up and graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a major in Printing Technology in 1974.
Immediately upon returning home, Searles Graphics, Inc. was founded in 1974 by Ken Searles. Ken's father Richard - a long time employee of the Long Island Advance and the Suffolk County News - joined him at Searles Graphics a year later as Vice President. Over the years, Searles Graphics grew through an aggressive yet measured approach, upgrading equipment and expanding to outgrow multiple buildings in Patchogue and East Patchogue.
Searles Graphics remains a family owned and operated business to this day, and the next generation is already at work keeping the company at the cutting edge of the industry. After starting his own software company while he was a junior at Renssealaer Polytechnic Institute, Ken's son Chris sold that business in 2007 to a Fortune 500 company, and soon left his role with that organization to join Searles Graphics in 2008.

Saddle stitching is the process of inserting staples into the spine of a printed and folded piece to bind the pages together.
At Searles Graphics we can saddle-stitch anywhere from 8 - 140 pages, depending on stock.
Perfect binding involves applying an adhesive to one side of the pages in your piece and then wrapping the entire book with the a cover, creating the front and back covers and the spine at the same time.

We will evaluate your job and work with you to make the necessary adjustments before digitally outputting to plate.
We maintain state-of-the-art technology, including our computer-to-plate system high resolution color and linear scanners, and an Epson color proofing system that is callibrated to our presses so that you can see precisely what your job will look like before it hits the press.
