A lot has changed since J.B. Gray & Son opened its doors in downtown Portland's Davis Building in 1945. In those days, type had to be set by hand, print jobs could take weeks, and color printing was beyond the reach of most budgets. Things look much different today. The Davis Building is long-gone, digital technologies have streamlined most of the laborious and time-consuming prepress work, large print jobs can be completed literally overnight, and full-color printing is now the norm.
Indeed, full-color digital printing is often less expensive than printing a single color on a traditional letterpress! Digital printing can also be used on a wide variety of surfaces besides paper, adding considerably more flexibility to the production of marketing materials. For all the changes in the printing industry, one thing has remained consistent at J.B. Gray & Son: our commitment to quality.
We've built a 75-year-old reputation by providing quality crafted printing at affordable prices. We don't pretend to be the cheapest printer in town - there are plenty of "rip and run" print shops that compete on that basis.

Files should be submitted as Press-Ready PDFs (sometimes called "Press-Quality" in certain programs).
If your file includes graphics, the best way to save them is as a TIF in CMYK color space with LZW compression prior to placing them in your layout.
TIF files are the industry standard for graphic reproduction and, unlike JPG, LZW compression does not cause any loss of quality.
Please note that PNG, GIF, and WEBP files do not support CMYK color space and are not appropriate for printing.
