Colorado Fine Art Reproduction specializes in creating unique prints that capture the beauty and inspiration of the original art. For artists seeking fine art photography and giclee prints in the Denver metro, we provide high-resolution scanning and superb reproductions that closely match the original. With a color-managed workflow, each original is reproduced in museum quality giclee prints.
Limited-edition reproductions allow fine artists to present their work to a wider audience and increase their sales and cash flow. They are also a great way to produce additional copies of a piece affordably, making it a perfect way to share their art among a larger audience. Our reproduction process carefully analyzes each section of the original and creates images that match as closely as possible the color, detail, and texture of the original, usually in the 90%-95% range.
Whether your medium is oil, pastel, watercolor, charcoal or mixed, we produce limited-edition and giclee prints that will help share the your skill and style with more collectors and buyers.

Photography of fine art for reproduction is as much science as art.
Just taking a photo will not yield a print that matches the original.
Here at Colorado Fine Art Reproduction's studio we follow a rigorously controlled process to create hi-res, color correct images of your art.
By evenly we mean that the light is the same intensity (a variance of +/- 1/10 of an f-stop) over the entire area to be photographed.
We measure the light in 9-12 areas from top to bottom and left to right.
The lights themselves are important.

The size of the original art, substrate, medium, texture, transparency, hues and values all need to be factored into the process.

The images above illustrate the difference in taking photographs of your artwork with a high-resolution camera at home with daylight (in the shade) compared to the same painting photographed in our studios with our high-end system.
We are able to capture the correct color and detail in the image but also the textures by adjusting the lighting to cast slight shadows beneath the thick paint strokes!
The image on the right is taken in our studios.
The artist says: "It's a perfect match to my original oil painting!"

Custom Photo Enlargements
Report
Enlargements from film require scanning at an additional charge, supplied files should be at 300 DPI as close as possible to desired print size.
Color & black/white: We can make both and color and b/w prints, depending on your original image.
We can make b/w enlargements from a color image but not the reverse.
Canvas prints are typically stretched on a frame and require a border either printed (gallery wrap) or not printed (museum wrap).
Gallery wrap requires a larger image area to allow for the wrap and is more expensive.
