Waterslide decals is a transfer printed onto a special paper that will allow your design to slide off the paper when submersed in water.
Clearly, the shape of the object for decoration dictates the size and placement.
One advantage to using decals is that a decal's cover-coat is flexible and can be stretched so that the design will fit the shape of the product.
Our waterslide decals are made to be fired onto ceramic or glass products but also can be applied onto wood or metal surfaces.
Due to the fact that our decals do not have an adhesive underside, a clear-coat or varnish is required on top of the decal to adhere the decal to the surface.

The design(s) are printed on a specially coated paper, a carrier (cover-coat, which disappears during the firing process) is printed over the design that allows the print to slide off after wetting.
For best results clean the ware to be decorated before applying the Waterslide Decal transfers.
The decorating surface must be clean and free from any grease, dust or dirt particles.
This is to ensure proper firing and bonding between the decal and the surface/substrate.
Any dust, dirt or chemical on your substrate will have an unwanted effect (blow outs) on the fired product.
For best results clean the ware to be decorated before applying the Waterslide Decal transfers.
The decorating surface must be clean and free from any grease, dust or dirt particles.
This is to ensure proper firing and bonding between the decal and the surface/substrate.

Storage/Regulation

We recommend storage of the decals in air-conditioned rooms (humidity 55-65% moisture) and on the decal paper's EDGE.
Decals should be stored at a constant room temperature of approximately 68-74oF.
With proper storage, the decals have a shelf life of 1 - 2 years.
Some colors may be effected over a longer period of storage.
Ceramic and glassware items are often decorated and fired with imprints containing heavy metals.
These imprints (glass frits) are fired at high temperatures (ranging from 1050o - 2225o Fahrenheit) to ensure they are permanently fused into the ware surface.
Decals should be stored at a constant room temperature of approximately 68-74oF.
With proper storage, the decals have a shelf life of 1 - 2 years.
